KROMESTAR & MC SUN OF SELAH (UK)

Over the past few years Kromestar has managed to create one of the most iconic signature sounds in dubstep, one which has spawned numerous imitators but remains inimitable.
His unique and inventive bass manipulation and the swagger of his drums mean that he remains head and shoulders above the new wave of half-step wobble dross that is currently saturating a lot of dubstep right now which has lost any of the scene’s original sense of experimentation. It is often possible to spot exclusive Kromestar white labels and exclusives in independent records shops. He remains an avid supporter of dubplate and vinyl culture: “Vinyl is what it is all about – it supports what we do. The vinyl creates the DJs, the labels, shops and then the punter in the shop. Without vinyl, I wouldn’t be able to do what I do.”

SILKIE (UK)

Silkie’s dubstep is a strictly wobble-free zone, his rolling, gritty textures striking a richer chord. He reps the more soulful side of the dubstep scene and his Anti-Social Entertainment crew are already synonymous with class, quality and finesse, doing for dubstep what LTJ Bukem did for drum ’n’ bass.
Maintaining a distance from what is ‘current’ and ‘now’ then is an asset to him and his music, which transcends trends and fads, rather choosing to take its lead from songs that have already proven themselves to stand the test of time. This perhaps accounts for the maturity audible in the music of this relative youngster.

GOTH TRAD (JAP Live)

Considered to be Japan’s Grandmaster in electronic dub music, GOTH-TRAD has released numerous tracks on both Japanese and European labels, including Mala’s Deep Medi Musik label. As an ambassador for the Asian sound he is highly recognised internationally. Freely playing samplers, keyboards and even self-made instruments in his live sets, “The Sound Originator” GOTH TRAD creates remarkable Dubstep music in an abstract aproach. His style is an amalgamation of the musical genres that have influenced him since he first discovered electronic music. From old techno, house and jungle to more recent influences like crunk, grime, drum’n'bass and 2-step, his tunes are the logical culmination of over 20 years of collecting and listening to records and producing music. The diverse appeal of his music and live shows is reflected in the range of artists he’s played alongside in the last few years: The Mars Volta, Don Letts, The Bug, DJ Krush, Limewax, Toshinori Kondo, Mike Ladd, Bong Ra, Buck 65, Zinc, Doc Scott, Skream, Mala and Iration Steppas.
